Meghan Markle Shuts Down Rumors About Political Ambitions

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has finally addressed long-standing rumors about her potential interest in entering the world of politics.

The 43-year-old multi-talented royal — known for her successful ventures including Netflix projects, a podcast, and a children’s book — made her first guest appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show. During the candid conversation, Meghan opened up about her marriage to Prince Harry, praised his qualities as a husband, and responded directly to speculation about a possible future in U.S. politics.

Appearing makeup-free and dressed casually in black sweatpants, Meghan was asked directly by host Jamie Kern Lima if she would ever consider running for office.

Without hesitation, Meghan firmly replied, “No,” before adding with a laugh, “Never. Oh, God.”
She continued, “I mean, you could say, ‘Never say never.’ But no, I’m not interested in that. No.”

Since her and Prince Harry’s move back to the United States, many observers speculated that Meghan’s strong presence and outspoken nature might lead her toward a political career. However, Meghan has now clearly put those rumors to rest.

Although Meghan and Harry have used their platform to speak about social issues, they have refrained from formally endorsing any political party in the U.S., respecting the Royal Family’s tradition of political neutrality.

In a 2020 statement regarding voting, Prince Harry said, “Many of you may not know that I haven’t been able to vote in the U.K. my entire life. As we approach this November, it’s vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation, and online negativity.”

Today, Meghan and Harry are focused on family life in Montecito, California, where they reside with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
