Demi Moore Reflects on Life After Oscar Loss — and Why She Spent the Day in Pajamas
April 22, 2025 | Celebrity News | Awards Season Highlights
After an award season filled with accolades for her standout performance in The Substance, Demi Moore is opening up about how she spent the day following her Oscar loss — and it may surprise you.
Though the Academy Award for Best Actress ultimately went to Mikey Madison for her powerful role in Anora, Moore had already taken home wins at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards for her intense, transformative portrayal in The Substance, which has been hailed as one of the most significant performances of her career.
A Cozy Day In: Demi’s Post-Oscar Routine
In a recent cover interview with People magazine, Moore shared that she spent the day after the Oscars in the most relatable way possible — lounging in her pajamas, grateful for the journey she’d been on.
“I think I was in them all day,” she said of her PJs. “The exhaustion from the day before, starting at 6 a.m., just caught up with me. I was so happy to sleep in, knowing I had nowhere to be. It was just a beautiful, easy day.”

The Challenge Behind The Substance
Moore also opened up about the behind-the-scenes effort that went into creating The Substance. Alongside co-star Margaret Qualley, she endured hours in prosthetics and emotionally intense scenes — a demanding experience that brought unexpected rewards.
“As somebody put it to me, it’s been like a full pregnancy — really joyous moments, exhausting moments,” Moore said, reflecting on the process.
She described the experience as “extraordinary,” particularly because of how unforeseen the film’s success was.
“I had no idea what might happen with this film. And I certainly could never have imagined it unfolding the way that it did,” she added.
What’s Next for Demi Moore?
Following her critically acclaimed film run, Demi Moore has returned to the small screen. She’s currently filming Season 2 of Landman, a hit drama series on Paramount+, continuing her strong momentum in both film and television.
