Wednesday Season 1 Episode 4 Woe What a Night

Opening: Murder Board and Monster Clues

The episode opens with  Wednesday Addams more determined than ever to find out who—or what—the Hyde is. She’s built a  murder board  in her dorm, tracking the monster’s victims and possible suspects. She’s ruled out several people, but  Xavier Thorpe  remains high on her list due to his cryptic behavior and mysterious past.

Xavier’s apparent connection to the monster becomes even more suspicious when Wednesday learns that he has frequent injuries that he brushes off as accidents. Even more unsettling is the discovery of a  creature-like painting  in Xavier’s secret art studio that looks exactly like the monster that killed Rowan.

Meanwhile,  Wednesday’s visions are becoming more vivid and urgent, especially when she sees flashes of  Goody Addams , who continues to send cryptic warnings from the past. These visions suggest that Wednesday is meant to stop an ancient evil  but time is running out.

 The Rave’N Dance Approaches

While Wednesday remains focused on the mystery, the rest of Nevermore Academy is excited about the upcoming Rave’N Dance  a formal event that students attend with their dates.

Wednesday is initially uninterested in the dance, dismissing it as a “meaningless social ritual.” But after encouragement from  Enid  and a bit of surprise from  Tyler , she agrees to go—though she insists it’s purely for investigative purposes.  Tyler invites her to the dance hoping to bond with her in a less stressful setting.

This development sparks tension with Xavier  who clearly has feelings for Wednesday and becomes jealous when he sees her choosing Tyler over him. Meanwhile,  Bianca  continues to keep a watchful eye on Wednesday, though her motives are ambiguous—part rivalry, part curiosity.

 Enid’s Growing Frustration

Enid, Wednesday’s colorful and upbeat werewolf roommate, struggles with her own issues. She’s upset that Wednesday still won’t fully open up to her or show interest in friendship. Enid also feels insecure about not having yet “wolfed out,” which makes her feel like an outsider even among outcasts.

She wants to attend Rave’N with Ajax the shy gorgon student she has a crush on, but Ajax accidentally petrifies himself in the mirror  while getting ready, canceling their plans. Enid ends up going alone, and her hurt feelings grow when Wednesday leaves her out of the night’s events and refuses to share her emotional space.

This emotional tension showcases the slow but meaningful development of their friendship arc

The Rave’N Dance: A Night to Remember

The Rave’N dance is beautifully set with gothic aesthetics and a dark, whimsical theme. Wednesday arrives in a striking black dress , standing out from her classmates and captivating everyone—including Tyler. Their chemistry grows as they dance, but Wednesday remains focused on her hidden agenda.

The highlight of the dance is  Wednesday’s iconic dance scene  a wild, unpredictable performance that perfectly captures her eccentric spirit. Her choreography is unique, bold, and becomes the defining visual of the series for many fans.

However, the joyous mood is shattered when the  sprinklers go off  drenching everyone in red-colored liquid  It turns out to be a cruel prank orchestrated by a group of normie students from Jericho, including  Lucas Walker , who holds a grudge against Nevermore students. The dance ends in chaos, and Wednesday, unsurprised by the betrayal, immediately leaves to resume her investigation.

Back to the Mystery: The Monster Strikes Again

While the prank at Rave’N was meant to humiliate Nevermore students, Wednesday’s real focus is still the Hyde. Her instincts prove right once again when she sneaks off during the dance to follow clues related to the monster.

She’s led into the woods, where she finds a  newly discovered victim brutally murdered in the same manner as the previous ones. The attack clearly happened recently, and Wednesday just missed seeing the creature.

With more evidence, she begins to narrow down suspects. Xavier continues to look guilty, especially after she finds claw marks and monster drawings in his studio . But Tyler is also acting suspiciously—he appears just as the murder scene is discovered, claiming to be out walking alone. Wednesday is now torn between trusting him and questioning everything.

 Wednesday’s Inner Conflict and Destiny

Throughout the episode, Wednesday is pulled between her growing connections to people like Tyler and Enid, and her instinct to push people away  to focus on her mission. She tells Enid she doesn’t do “feelings” or attachments, but it’s becoming clear that  she does care —even if she doesn’t know how to show it.

Her visions of  Goody Addams  intensify, suggesting that someone close to her is not who they appear to be. Goody warns her of betrayal and pain, reinforcing Wednesday’s trust issues but also adding pressure— whatever evil is coming is accelerating .

Conclusion: Blood, Betrayal, and Unanswered Questions

Episode 4 closes with the monster killing again, and Wednesday finding herself deeper in a web of lies, half-truths, and supernatural danger. The Rave’N dance was supposed to be a night of fun, but for Wednesday, it was another step into the darkness.

With both Tyler and Xavier acting suspiciously, and her visions pointing to an ancient threat, Wednesday realizes that the key to solving the mystery may lie in understanding not just her enemies, but her own past—and the dark legacy she’s destined to confront.
