New DC Animated Series Announced: Green Lantern, DC Super Powers, and Starfire

DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation have unveiled three brand-new animated series set to expand the DC animated universe. Spearheaded by James Gunn and Peter Safran, these upcoming projects—My Adventures with Green Lantern, DC Super Powers, and Starfire—are designed with a younger audience in mind and will be overseen by executive producer Sam Register.

My Adventures with Green Lantern

Executive produced by Jake Wyatt and co-executive produced by Stephanie Gonzaga, My Adventures with Green Lantern centers on high school student Jessica Cruz. Her life takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious Green Lantern Power Ring falls from the sky and selects her as its champion. The series promises an exciting blend of school life and intergalactic conflict, as additional remnants from an ancient Lantern war—and their alien adversaries—begin to surface.

DC Super Powers

DC Super Powers is set in the dynamic environment of the Alliance School for Heroes. This series follows beloved characters including Lightning, Flash, Plastic Man, Aquagirl, Green Lantern, and Terra, as they work to “level up” their abilities under the guidance of Principal Martian Manhunter. Executive producer Matt Beans and supervising producer Michael Chang helm this project, which aims to combine superhero action with youthful adventure.

Starfire

Focusing on the iconic Teen Titans character, Starfire will chronicle the adventures of the fiery alien princess. Executive produced by Josie Campbell with Brianne Droughard as co-executive producer, the show follows Starfire after she escapes her home planet of Tamaran aboard an ancient spaceship. Along her journey, she encounters new allies such as space biker Crush, the nature-loving Fern, and the mystical Princess Amethyst of Gemworld. Together, they embark on epic quests to explore the far reaches of the DC universe—from saving Space Dolphins to surfing technicolor nebulas.
