During a promotional event for Thunderbolts*, Feige, alongside Florence Pugh (who plays Yelena Belova), revealed that filming for Avengers: Doomsday officially kicked off on April 28.

“Officially?” Pugh asked with a smile, referring to an earlier shoot she participated in. Feige clarified, “That was a pre-photography day that you did.” Pugh, clearly excited, responded, “I feel so lucky,” highlighting her enthusiasm for being part of the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios is taking its strict anti-spoiler measures to new heights ahead of the movie’s release. Actor Wyatt Russell, who portrays John Walker/US Agent in Thunderbolts*, joked about the intense media training Marvel enforces. Speaking with ComicBook.com, he humorously stated, “Media training for Doomsday is like having a knife held to your neck — they tell you, ‘If you say anything, it’s over.’”

However, not everyone faced this level of “intimidation.” Director Jake Schreier, who worked on Thunderbolts*, mentioned that he wasn’t subjected to such intense secrecy measures.
“I was never taken into the back room and given the serious talk,” Schreier admitted, adding, “Maybe because so much information is already out there, you just naturally learn not to reveal anything.”

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters worldwide on May 1, 2026, and promises to be one of Marvel’s biggest cinematic events yet.

Stay tuned for more updates as production moves forward!
